Do you ever wonder what this Deacon commission is all about?
Well, here is the explanation. It was set in place about two years ago to help
those at West Hills who might find that they are in need of temporary
assistance.  For example, if one is laid
up with illness or injury and could use some company, Carol Wagner or Miriam
Won are the ones to call and cards will be sent, phone calls may be made or a
friendly visit could be arranged.  It is
just a phone call away.

And under the same conditions, if meals brought to you would
help, just call Sheryll Chambers, or Helen Winberg to set arrangements in
motion. They also have a list of West Hills members that could help with yard
work or painting or house work on a one time basis. If any of this is needed
just call for help. Each Sunday someone form the Newcomers/Visitor committee is
at the front door to greet first time visitors. A guest book and name tags are
provided if they wish to sign.  A
welcoming letter goes out the following week from the office and a phone call
is made to say we are happy that they visited our church.

The Deacon fund is available for emergency and temporary
financial needs. If you have such a need, please call Linda Hutchins or Pastor
Luke.   

Now you know all about why the Deacon commission is in your
Sunday bulletin.  We are there ready to
meet your needs but we need to be informed of those needs! So remember, we are
a phone call away form helping you.
