Dear Partners,

What a difference one year can
make. Given the chaos created by the Olympics, this year’s Global Project
planning work feels like a springtime walk in the park.

I have six directors already
primed and eager so the next step is to find teachable students to fill these
GPs. Given the swirling winds of economic unrest this may be the biggest
challenge we face. Would you specifically pray that over the next four
weeks God would move students to put feet to their faith and register?

Here is our projected line-up for
the summer:

Xinjiang GP: Adrian Tam, Harvard IV staff, will
lead with staff help from Texas, Georgetown, and North
Carolina
. Three NC students from last summer are
being drawn by God to return to water seeds previously sown among the Uyghurs.

Xining GP: Katie Schneider and fellow Ohio staff will lead
this Great Lakes East Region GP. This region has been severely affected by the
economy.

Xian GP: Jonathan Phillips is preparing to
lead our first GP comprised of Arizona
students. Our Xian college has never hosted a GP and so we have an inordinate
number of logistical issues to work through.

Hohhot GP: Bryan and Peggy, UC-Davis staff,
will lead their fourth GP to HH but this time it will be to a new university which
always creates additional challenges.

Shanghai Grad Student GP: Jill Feldkamp is turning over many
stones to find grad students to respond to an amazing invitation from a
prestigious university that would give us access to some of China’s future
professors.

Alumni GP to Pingliang: Carol and I still have room for a
few more adults (and teen children) who want to experience Kingdom work in an
out-of-the-way place in China.

Four of these directors are
rookies so my days are filled helping them prepare as well as planning our own
GP. If any of you want to join the 14 already registered, ask for the
application forms.

Concurrently, we continue to be
overwhelmed by all God is doing in the process of reconnecting with our son,
Frederick. During his January visit he shared deeply and it was painful to hear
that he felt unloved, not only by us but by God. We sense that this is a unique
moment for healing, starting with our own interior lives. So, we have committed
to spending Feb. 25 to Mar. 5 with F’k in LA, as well as attending two
seminars focused on emotionally healthy spirituality. We would welcome your prayers
that even old dogs like us can, because of God’s enabling Spirit, cultivate
a healthy interior life that results in authentic Christ-likeness.

Thank you for caring for us
through your prayers,

Fred and Carol Wagner
